1. Criteria for Authorship

To qualify as an author, an individual must meet the following criteria:

  1. Substantial Contribution: Make a significant intellectual contribution to the conception or design of the research, the collection of data, the analysis or interpretation of findings, or the development of the theological, educational, or scholarly arguments presented in the manuscript.

  2. Writing and Revision: Participate in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.

  3. Final Approval: Approve the final version of the manuscript submitted for publication.

  4. Accountability: Accept responsibility for their contributions and cooperate in addressing questions concerning the accuracy, integrity, or ethical conduct of the research.

All individuals listed as authors must satisfy these criteria. Individuals who have contributed to the research but do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately in the Acknowledgments section, with their consent.

2. Corresponding Author

The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the editorial office throughout the submission, peer-review, revision, and publication processes. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the submitted manuscript and agreed to its submission to Veritas Lux Mea: Jurnal Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen.

The corresponding author is also responsible for providing accurate information about authorship, affiliations, funding sources, and potential conflicts of interest, as well as facilitating communication among the authors and the editorial team.

3. Changes in Authorship

Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors after manuscript submission must be submitted in writing to the editor, accompanied by a clear explanation and written agreement from all authors concerned, including those being added or removed.

Changes in authorship will be considered only when there are legitimate academic reasons and sufficient documentation. The editor reserves the right to request additional information before approving any changes. Changes to authorship after publication will be handled in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

4. Unacceptable Authorship Practices

The journal does not permit the following practices:

  • Gift or honorary authorship: Listing individuals as authors who have not made substantial intellectual contributions to the work.

  • Ghost authorship: Omitting individuals who have made substantial contributions and meet the authorship criteria.

  • Guest authorship: Including individuals as authors solely to increase the perceived credibility or prestige of the manuscript.

  • Unauthorized authorship changes: Adding, removing, or changing the order of authors without the agreement of all authors concerned.

  • Misrepresentation of contributions: Providing inaccurate information about the roles or contributions of individual authors.

Any suspected violation of authorship ethics will be investigated by the editorial team in accordance with the journal's research integrity and publication ethics policies.

5. Contributions and Acknowledgments

Authors are encouraged to clearly describe their respective contributions to the manuscript. Individuals who provide technical assistance, language editing, administrative support, general supervision, or other contributions that do not meet the authorship criteria may be acknowledged appropriately, with their consent.

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, where applicable, must be disclosed in accordance with the journal's AI-use policy. AI tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and ethical conduct of scholarly work. Human authors remain fully accountable for the content of their manuscripts.
